Hello Subscriber First Name, Another month begins and we continue alone, but together. Because we must. I know April was a hard month for many. It definitely had its ups and downs. But again, I am starting this month much like last. Wanting to be more in control. Wanting to be more positive. But isn’t that the joy of starts and new beginnings? They are always readily available. We can always start again. So, in that vein of optimism, I started reading Walt Whitman again, and Mary Oliver. Both are poets and optimists. Both with so much wisdom to pass along. Both with a recipe to seemingly feed the soul. A good example, are these words from Whitman’s O Me! O Life! You probably remember them as a powerful teaching moment for Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society. And a great push for Apple in their iPad commercial a few years back. The question, O me! so sad, recurring - What good amid these, O me, O life? What a powerful, life affirming statement of purpose. Some days we need to be reminded of just this —we can contribute a verse. And Mary Oliver encourages and pushes us forward with these beautiful words from her poem, The Ponds. Still, what I want in my life is to be willing
to be dazzled –
to cast aside the weight of facts and maybe even
to float a little
above this difficult world.
I want to believe I am looking into the white fire of a great mystery.
I want to believe that the imperfections are nothing –
